We've all probably heard the saying, "Health is Wealth", but I think health is actually better than wealth. Both can be lost and regained, however, most people find it more difficult to recover health than wealth because one who is not at his or her optimal level of health often lacks the energy and stamina to pursue increasing wealth.
Unfortunately, with many Americans lacking health care insurance and the increased costs of medical care overall, maintaining good health can be an expensive endeavor especially when each new supplement, exotic superfood, or miracle diet promises to be "the" answer to our health care issues.
Is good health available to all? Is it reserved for just those who are 'insured"? Should only the wealthy enjoy good health?
As I pondered these questions, I came to realize that the Creator truly provides what we need if only we take the time to seek out the wisdom of the ages and employ them on a regular basis. In the next few blog posts, I share some of my favorite "free" health care tips in the hopes that you will find that good health doesn't have to be expensive or complicated.
In the meantime, I will share one of my favorite health tips, "A merry heart does good, like medicine"(Proverbs 17:22). Norman Cousins, the longtime editor of the Saturday Review, battled a near-fatal illness by laughing at it, and in the 1998 movie, "Patch Adams", Robin Williams portrayed Patch Adams, a doctor, and clown who brought humor to orphans, patients, and other people. Will laughter solve ALL your problems? No, but maybe it will alleviate some tension and give you a new perspective on things.
